Luxury children’s wallpaper and fabric designer Katie Bourne is in the running to win a top award – but she needs your help to clinch the top spot!

Now in its third year, the Little London Awards celebrate the very best in pregnancy, baby and children’s brands. With winners being chosen by the public, the awards champion excellence and are among the most respected and relevant in the industry.

Katie Bourne Interiors has been shortlisted in the Best Nursery Essential category for its fun, whimsical yet contemporary and stylish range of children’s wallpapers and fabrics. Voting is now open and closes in September

Katie said: “It’s always lovely to be recognised in awards but as the Little London Awards are voted for by the public, these are particularly special. My ethos is all about creating nurseries that are not just beautiful to look at but engaging and inspiring for their little residents. It’s fantastic to see my work being celebrated alongside some other superb brands in these awards.”

 A new fabric collection is due to launch by the end of the summer. The collection will be a mixture of bleached and Natural English linen and will be available for every pattern and colourway in the growing Katie Bourne Interiors portfolio. This will enable the product range to be expanded to include matching lampshades and cushions for all wallpaper patterns.

Children’s bedroom inspiration

I’ve recently had our children’s bedrooms re-decorated using our wallpapers and fabrics. We have two sons, Barnaby who's 2 and Seb who is just 2 months old an it’s been great fun picking designs out for them. Now both of the rooms are completed, I’d like to share with you a few pictures. 

For Seb we decided to go for ‘Merry go circus’ in cream and green. The room has an overall feeling of being playful and fun, yet still calm and relaxing. We picked Farrow and Ball paint in the colour ‘Dimity’ to match the background shade and a brilliant white for the ceiling, skirting and door. The south facing room has light pouring through the windows so it feels spacious, lovely and light. We do have nice thick black out blinds for nighttime though in a plain cream.

Barnaby’s new room features ‘Once upon a star’ in slate and white with the bleached ‘Scattered stars’ fabric. We used a brilliant white for all the paintwork. This is a smaller room, which has a single bed and a changing table. The grey is great for making other colour's pop, so if you teamed this wallpaper with a bright rug or cushions you’d be guaranteed a fun modern palette. Barnaby has been having great fun identifying the planets and stars and lies in bed captivated in the pattern.

NEW COLLECTION LAUNCH

New Collection- Stars

We are now in the final stages of launching our new 'Stars' collection for boys and girls. The photography is looking great and we can't wait to show you what what we've been up to! 

We are very excited about the new patterns. This time Katie has focused on using the same theme for both boys and girls. Both papers have the theme of stars with playful characters interacting with them. The papers stay loyal to Katie Bourne Interiors style using soft traditional colours with a charming playful pattern which will inspire young inquisitive minds.

The collection will be launched at the end of November 2015
